We are just normal Canadians that put our pants on one leg at a time.
We are not the powerful, but we can do small acts and pray for Protection, Peace and Unity.
Every act counts in large amounts...

I grew up Christian (Mennonite and Evangelical) on the prairies and I also spent time in the Anglican church. I looked into joining a monastery when I was going through a tough time in my late twenties and what I found there led me to a more Buddhist-style meditation. This year, I stumbled upon Near Death Experience videos on youtube where people of all faiths and walks of life have medically died and come back; they talk about the amazing spiritual experiences they had on the other side- often of profound and consuming love. Many of them tell us that prayer has powerful effects, and they ask us to keep up the praying efforts. This has renewed my interest in prayer, although I don’t think the technicalities of what happens in our brains and spirits exactly matters as long as we’re sincere, and inviting in the holy.
I have a degree in Intercultural Studies from a Bible College in Manitoba and a degree in Political Science from Saskatchewan, and I like thinking about how politics and spirituality intersect.

I am an old, church-going veteran, who has seen too much war and division through his life. I also practice Christian contemplation. Just being silent through contemplation or other practices reveals the sustaining energy of creation, Love. We only need to quiet the angry, swirling commentary in our minds to reach true peace and unity.
